Ten years ago our nation suffered a tragedy on September 11 that impacted the entire world. On Sunday, September 11th, this year, there will be a community wide “9/11 Unity Gathering” filled with music and centered around three words – “Remembrance, Struggle, and Hope”.
Highlights of the gathering will be the “Singing Quakers” of Friends University, the “Bel Canto Choir” from Hesston College, and the “Troubadours” of Newman University. In addition, internationally acclaimed Baritone Soloist Anthony Brown, Jakub Omsky, Principal Cellist of the Wichita Symphony and Wichita State University Hindu Dancers will help us remember through their performances how our nation and world has struggled to find meaning and hope.
The event will conclude with over 100 voices singing “A Song of Peace” (complimented with brass and percussion) arranged by Johnnie Carl.
