September Interfaith Habitat Build

Interfaith Habitat for Humanity Build

“BUILDING on FAITH” – Creating Unity and Respect

September 4-29, 2012

Home Build Coordinator: Kate Davis, Habitat Volunteer Coordinator, 316-264-1108, email:

Global Faith In Action is encouraging congregations and individuals to join the Wichita faith community as together it builds a Habitat Home! Kate Davis, Home Build Coordinator, will be very helpful. This past year Kate served as a Project Coordinator for Global Faith In Action, and traveled to Haiti as a member of a GFIA Volunteer in Mission Team. We have experienced her leadership skills, as well as the sensitivities necessary to accomplish an “interfaith build”. If your congregation (or you) are ready to help build a home for someone in need, call Kate, or GFIA president, Sam Muyskens, 316-708-4545. Sam is serving on the steering committee of the Interfaith Habitat Build!

Coming together for the common goal of building a house with a neighbor in need has proven to be a successful way to build relationships between people of differing faith traditions – Individuals find a new and deep respect for one another.

Interfaith builds bring some challenges, but we will try to meet them all. The Wichita interfaith build will be sensitive to the religious dietary needs of participants, as well as respecting times for prayer within religious traditions.

Let’s come together, share our commonly held belief to serve the needs of others, and participate in the “Building on Faith” interfaith Habitat build.
